Rare opportunity to work with horses comes up at Weald & Downland Living Museum, West Sussex
Full-time permanent jobs with heavy horses come up rarely, and this one is a real plum in a beautiful part of the world, following a vacancy after the museum’s horseman, Mark Buxton, stepped down. The job description has been revised and the post is now called Working Animal Supervisor. The successful applicant will be expected to run the museum’s working horse operation to a high standard, and will also have responsibility for the working oxen and other farm livestock on the site. They will be part of the museum’s historical interpretation team and have a team of committed volunteers to help them. The job comes with accommodation on site. The role will go to an experienced and enthusiastic person able to demonstrate best practice who also enjoys engaging with the museum’s many visitors. Closing date 15 April; interviews week commencing 29 April. Find out more at https://www.wealddown.co.uk/get-involved/working-for-us/
