Heavy Horse World Winter issue is at the printers!

The last of our four 30th anniversary year issues is now at the printers! The Winter issue is packed with reports from Summer 2017 – all the best of the shows and events where heavy horses have been entertaining the public up and down the land. They include the Shire of the Year final and the British ridden heavy championship from the Horse of the Year Show; the winners of the top ploughing matches, the British National and the SCHHA Great All England; the Foal shows from the Autumn, and top events including the Suffolk Spectacular, Leicester Show with its reintroduced heavy horse classes, Countryfile Live and the Shire Horse Society’s new Working Horse Festival. Features cover a huge span – from the story of harness champion Fifield Admiral, and a tale about a poorly foal who grew into a prize winner, to our update on a new horse-drawn farm in Devon, and reflections on what it means to be a horseman in the ‘New Horse Age’. If you’re due to renew your subscription or want to take out a new one, don’t tally! You can subscribe through this website, or ring us on 01730 812419. Watch out for more on the new issue soon!
