Getting ready for the show season

With the National Shire Horse Show just a couple of weeks away (22-24 March in Stafford) things are hotting up for the show season. A great show at the southern end of the country a couple of months later is the South Eastern Shire Horse Association Heavy Horse & Country Show at East Bysshe Cross Country Showground, Eastbourne Road (A22) RH7 6LF. The dates this year are 5/6 May (not 6/7 as in the advert in the latest magazine, although the date is correct in the HHW Events List in the magazine). The site is between Blindley Heath and Newchapel, Surrey, and apart from heavy horse showing, ridden and driven classes, heavy horses will be demonstrating their working skills and there will be a special display from Operation Centaur.
